The Truth About Making Money

Would you like to have more money? Would you like to be able to buy more of the things you want? There are several things you can do starting now to increase your income. If you want to generate more money, simply apply the following keys to wealth.

The first key to generating more money consists of developing your strongpoint. Many people say they want more money, but few are willing to exert the effort to increase their income. This is partly because people do not know where to start. Fortunately the starting point is known. You start with your strongest skill or talent.

You can identify your strongpoint or area of talent by mentally reviewing your life and determining which activity or line of work you excelled in. Ask yourself what work you can do with the greatest ease and success. Once you identify your strongest point—perhaps it is drawing or teaching or building or mathematics—you can focus on developing this strongpoint to a marketable level.

This does not imply formal schooling although it might include some schooling. You can teach yourself or take classes or hire a tutor or some combination of these. The goal is to develop your skills or talent to a high level so you can compete and win in the marketplace.

The marketplace is where people vote for you by electing to purchase what you offer. It is democratic and people will vote you rich if you offer them something that genuinely improves the quality of their life. Otherwise they will vote you poor while they vote other people rich.

The second key to generating more money consists of increasing your service. Once you have identified and developed your strongest point, you are ready to earn money. Maybe you are going to market your skills to an employer or perhaps you are going to use your skills to create a product and sell it directly to the public. Whichever is the case, you can generate more money by increasing your service.

This means that rather than serving one person or a few people, you need to serve hundreds or thousands or millions of people. In return for doing this, you will receive payment in direct proportion to the number of people you serve. And this is the key to earning a lot of money.

For example, if you like to sing, you can make a small amount of money singing to small crowds. But if you record your music on CD and sell it to hundreds of thousands of people, you will increase your income by hundreds of thousands of dollars. Another example is consulting: if you consult to a few people, you will earn a small amount of money. But if you convert your specialized knowledge into a printed product, you can sell it to thousands of people and increase your income accordingly.

The third key to generating more money consists of applying the wealth formula. What is the wealth formula? The wealth formula is actually very simple. It says to focus on little efforts that produce big results while avoiding big efforts that produce little results. That is the wealth formula in a nutshell.

For example, you might have tried to do something that cost you a significant amount of time and money in hopes that you would achieve a desired outcome. Perhaps you were looking for a job and you went through an elaborate method of contacting places of employment. After much effort you did not get hired. Then you started socializing and began meeting people who work in companies where you want to work. You asked them for suggestions and help, and soon you got hired. From then on you would discard the costly approach to job seeking and instead try to meet influential people who can help you get hired.

This wealth formula also applies to your business. For example, if you are trying to advertise your product to a general audience and are spending a small fortune with little results, you should try something else. You might identify target markets and only advertise your product to people in these target markets. By doing this, you can decrease your cost per sale and thus save money.

Just notice which approaches work well for you and which ones do not. Scrap fruitless approaches and search for approaches that maximum the use of your resources.

The fourth key to generating more money consists of marketing yourself or your product. When you have developed yourself to a marketable level, do not stop there and wait for the world to come to you. Go on the offense by promoting yourself. Advertise your product. Market what you have to offer. Make sure people know what you can do for them. Let them know clearly and repeatedly.

This does not mean you should become obnoxious. But with six billion people on earth, your skills or products will get lost in the shuffle of daily life if you do not market yourself. If you do not know how to market yourself, you can hire a professional or take a course on marketing or teach yourself through study. Be sure to let the world know what you have to offer. And make your offer compelling so people have reasons to choose you over your competitors.

The fifth key to generating more money consists of using feedback to guide you. After you begin generating money, you probably will need to make adjustments. Keep your mind open to feedback from other people. People will criticize, complain, ignore or praise you. Understand what they are saying to you and why they are saying it. You might need to adjust your approach slightly or you might have to scrap your current approach and do something different.

Do not let negative or harsh feedback bring you down or make you upset. Just recognize it for what it is and act accordingly. Make necessary adjustments so you can make more money.

In summary, you can generate more money by developing yourself and increasing your service to others. Avoid inefficient activities and remain open to feedback so you can make necessary adjustments. If you develop yourself to a marketable level and you figure out how to increase your service to others, you can increase your income—possibly to an amount you never dreamed possible.
